Going green in Mawaid-e-Burhani

We are all becoming increasingly aware and concerned of environmental issues of late.  Anjuman-e-Burhani, London, plays its role by reducing waste and recycling re-usable materials where ever possible.  In order to facilitate this, SEZ London will aim to manage and recycle waste in Mawaid-e-Burhani this Ramadhan al-Moazzam by introducing a number of initiatives.  In accordance with Aqa Moula’s (TUS) kushi mubarak, mumineen, muminaat and their children are encouraged to assist the mawaid khidmatguzars to help us become a truly “green” jamaat.  Please see the posters below and those located around the mawaid for more information:

Picnic in the park

On Sunday 10 August 2008, SEZ London organized its first ever Summer Picnic.  Shabab members, old and new, as well as their families, met up in Rickmansworth Aquadrome to take part in many activities including volleyball, cricket, rounders, badminton, frisbee and Boules (French bowls).  There was also a sand pit and a game of Ducks and Geese to occupy the little ones.  Food and drink comprised of a buffet type lunch featuring sandwiches with a variety of fillings and BBQ food.

Despite the typical British weather over 100 people, comprised of about 30 SEZ members and their families, aged from 1 to 70 years, turned out for the picnic.  A fun filled day was had by all.
