In total approximately 500 people took part, between the ages of 7 and 76. Two hundred started the walk from Bonham House, Aqa Moula’s (TUS) residence, in Holland Park. Aamil saheb led matam and tilawat of qaseeda prior to setting off on the walk.
Shabab and Toloba khidmat guzars organised groups of 20-people and ensured all were handed maps and refreshments. The groups walked with discipline taking care to be considerate to members of the public. The walk was about 10 miles, with groups completing the walk between 2.5 and 3.5 hours. London mumineen were joined by 50 Shabab members from Bradford. Within the group two mumin bhai walked bare foot.
Other groups walked from their Mohallah’s which included Qutbi from Slough, Zaini and Badri from Sutton, and Mohammedi and Saifee closer to the Masjid.
On reaching Mohammed Park Masjid Complex in Northolt, mumineen performed matam in a procession to Busaheba’s (AQ) ziyarat. There a darees, tilawat of duas and 30-minutes of purjosh matam took place for Moula’s (TUS) sehat and tulul-umr.
